The Aura Leisure centre in Dundalk celebrates its 20th anniversary this week and are invited locals to pop down and see how the facilities have grown over the two decades.

here was great excitement when the centre opened as it saw the town finally getting its long awaited swimming pool.

The centre continues to be operated by Aura Leisure on behalf of Louth County Council and delivers swimming and fitness programmes for all ages and abilities in the community.

"During the past 20 years we continued to grow and develop our service,” says  operations manager Josephine Pepper.

Alongside the 25m pool and learner pool, there is a state of the art fitness centre, with a dedicated  weightlifting area, as well  cardio machines, stationary bikes and treadmills,  a fitness class studio, while the steam room and sauna is the perfect place to relax afterwards.

The centre offers a variety of classes, such as  swimming lessons for adults, children and babies, while their experienced personal trainers are ready to help people choose the most suitable fitness class, based on their  goals and needs.

There are pay as you go and membership options available for both pool and gym.

 If you haven't visited the Aura Leisure Centre on St Alphonsus Road recently now is your chance. Pop down on Thursday March  10th between 12.30pm and 4pm for a walk around the facility.

LMFM will be broadcasting live from outside the centre between 11am-1pm and there will be lots of goodies to give away and fun to be had
